A studio gives us a simple, clean backdrop that keeps the attention on your baby and your family. This can be especially great if you love a more minimal look or simply don't want to worry about having photos taken inside your home.

Whether we photograph your newborn session at home or in a studio, the heart behind it stays the same: relaxed photographs that capture genuine connection and all the little details you don't want to forget.

What to expect from your newborn photography session

If you're worried that your baby won't cooperate for photos, please don't be.

Newborn sessions are meant to move at your baby's pace. There is time to feed, change, rock, soothe, or simply take a break when we need one.

I'll also help guide you through what to do in front of the camera, so you don't need to arrive knowing how to pose. My goal is for the experience itself to feel easy and comfortable. We're documenting life with a newborn. A little bit of beautiful chaos is more than welcome here.

When should you schedule newborn photos?

Newborn sessions are typically photographed during the first few weeks after birth, when babies are still especially tiny and sleepy. Because babies rarely arrive exactly when expected, I recommend reaching out during pregnancy when possible. We can plan around your due date and finalize the session once your little one arrives.

Already had your baby? Reach out anyway! Babies change unbelievably fast during those first months, and there is something worth remembering at every stage.

What should we wear for newborn photos?

Keep it simple.

Soft neutrals, muted colors, natural textures, and clothing you actually feel comfortable wearing tend to photograph beautifully. You don't have to perfectly match everyone, and you definitely don't need to buy an entirely new wardrobe.

Once your session is booked, I'm happy to help with outfit ideas so it's one less thing you have to figure out.

Newborn photography for the whole family

Newborn photos aren't only about the baby.

They're about the family that changed when that baby arrived.

Parents and siblings are absolutely encouraged to be part of your newborn session. Some of my favorite images are the ones that show how incredibly small a new baby looks in their parents' arms or the beginning of a relationship between siblings.

And mamas, I know getting in front of a camera right after having a baby may be the last thing you feel ready for. Get in the photos anyway. Years from now, your child is going to see their mama holding them when they were brand new.
